Hello!

I have only registered on here today so this is all new to me!

My fiance and I are getting married at the Blue Lagoon in Kos on the 15 Sepyember 2011! It is rapidly approaching now!

We have arranged our meeting at the Registry office to obtain our legal documents - they said that the Greek Authorities are quite strict.

What details do we require to be included on the Notice of Impediment? We will not have a huge turnaround in getting these translated so we need to get it right first time!

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated!!

I can not wait to go back to Kos, we have been there a couple of times and LOVE the island!

Thanks,

Claire

Hi there, I am a wedding planner in Kos, might I recommend you look at some of the reviews regarding Blue Lagoon on Trip Advisor, there seems to be a lot of reviews posted lately by Brides to be and we (the Kos population) are not in the least bit happy about what we are reading!! There are some wonderful florists in Kos, bouquets begin from 50 euros dependant on what flowers and arrangement you want. You might not find them on web pages as it's not the 'Greek' way of life like it is in UK, if we can be of any help to you don't hesitate to give us a shout, advice and guidance is always free, we just want you to love the Island of Kos. Hiya!!

We have booked to get married at blue lagoon, kos on 6th september 2012. a little way off yet but still just as nervous.

I'm so desperate to talk to anyone getting married here as I have read a lot of reviews on tripadvisor.. not all good! I have never been to Kos but my fiance has and he loves the island, this is why we chose it.

We have had a lot of problems with getting our date confirmed through first choice but hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Would love to hear about everyones plans, where you have decided to get married and where you are having your receptions???

Hi Claire,

Have you obtained your certificate of non impediment? If so have you now sent your documents to be legalised in Milton Keynes? Do you have a wedding planner at the Hotel or are you with a Tour Operator who is going to help you through all of the legal side? We do offer a translation service and it is much cheaper than Tour Operators. If you want to look at our web page exquisite kos weddings we are happy to help any Bride in need of answers, or you might find the answer there. Please feel free to ask if there is anything.

Kindest Regards
Helen

Hi Katy, I just wondered why you have not had your date confirmed yet? Any Bride that has booked with us for 2012 already know their dates, in fact they choose them!! What have your tour operators said in response to this? My advice would only be don't pick the church...it's on a main road - opposite the car park - lots of cars, buses and mopeds going by all the time, not very intimate!! Hi, I've had a lot of different stories relating to why I havent had my date confirmed. I have been told that the registrars don't look a tthe diaries till late JUly (which i was then told by the lady who works at blue lagoon is not true) I have also been told that the blue lagoon are not confiming their dates till end of july (which again was told by blue lagoon that this is not true) In the end Ive found that my papers have only just arrived in greece depsite apparently being sent in may! So frustrating but hopefully wont have to wait much longer now. We have chosen the beach ceramony but really struggling to decide where to have the 'afterparty'.

Hi I am getting married at the blue lagoon on the 13th september 2012 and also struggling with the paperwork. I'm getting very nervous but so excited to be a mrs. I know a family friend who married here last year and said the hotel for the wedding was perfect although the reception they didn't enjoy hence why I have opted for a local restaurant called the lofaki. Look at the reviews on trip advisor it says it all xx

How do I go about contacting kos weddings? Did you do it through the travel agents, because I booked through Thomsons. I am very excited to be getting married here and have seen nothing but fantastic reviews about lofaki, it would be good to keep in touch and hopefully you could let me know any tips for when we go?

if you go on their website kosweddings.com and contact them through email saying u are marrying with thomson but would like to do all your paperwork with kosweddings and give them your dates details etc they will tell you how much and what to do and its by far the cheapest way of doing it i reckon.theyre very helpful too.i think lofaki is such a better choice for reception as its more personal and it looks gorgeous!!cant wait now x x
