We are getting married march 8th 2014 seems like ages away now but if you say 20 months away it's like arrrrggghhhh!!! Lol we needed enough time to save up we are paying for almost all of it ourselves couple of small donations from parents but Nothing that makes a major dent think I'm going to be making a lot of the stuff myself decorations and wedding favours so most of the money can go on the ideal venue and food
who's done what so far??
Everyone keep looking at me like im mad when I say I've started already but I'm trying to get a couple if bits a month so the wedding fund gets left alone

I know what you mean!! Our wedding is 23 months away still!! Feels so long away! We're marrying on 25th May 2014 (my birthday :) ) and we've booked the church and booked the venue but now I'm left twiddling my thumbs because I want to carry on booking things but it's too early. I've contacted someone for hair and make up (got my priorities sorted!) but they advised I contact them again April next year! All I'm occupying myself with at present is the 'save the dates' and trying to get some ideas for favours...!

We're off to visit our possible venue again tomorrow to get some quotes and hopefully ask them to keep the date free for us.

Good to hear that some other people find it difficult to make decisions too.

Since I started looking around at other venues I realised the one we have picked is as close to perfect as we're going to get so just waiting for confirmation of school holiday dates (I'm a teacher) before putting the deposit down! Exciting stuff!

Guest list on the other hand... less exciting! 120 person limit on the venue and the fact that it's a 5 hour drive from us and most of our guests are the 2 'cons' to the venue which make the guest list a bit harder...

Well I've got one thing definatly booked now....flowers. My sister has a friend who's a florist and was chatting to her (florist) on Facebook about a deal she had if you booked the wedding flowers (with a deposit). I said I would speak to my sister first (as she offered to pay for my flowers as a wedding pressie) as it was a quite a lot of money. She then messaged me back to say "all sorted, you have a wonderful sis" She paid the deposit this evening!

So happy and feel very lucky too!
xx

Hi ladies, I am getting married on 17th May 2014, seems ages away, but it has be done, as they are soo expensive. So it give us plenty of time to save for it all. We have booked the venue, and i have the photographer coming over next week, so i am sure I will book him and I have also booked the hair and make-up artist, she is really good, and i didn't want to miss out on her! The singers are booked as well. So everything i can get away with booking i have! Now its just all the planning, we know our colors and theme, its just putting it all into place!

Congrats! It's exciting isn't it!! I would suggest looking for a photographer next, it might take you a while to find the one you like, and then also its best to book in with them asap, so you don't run the risk of them not being available for your wedding! xx

We're getting married on 23rd Aug 2014, can't wait but I know theres just soooo much to do! Venue sorted, and photographers short listed. I want to go and try on dresses but I know I want to lose weight first otherwise it will just depress me.

Not trying on dresses is the hardest part! I get married on 17th May 2014, and I am so desperate to try them on now, but it's not risky! I think once its 2013 about March time I will start to look :-)!

Ah Zoe, I admire your willpower. I'm getting married 3rd May 2014, and have just put a deposit down on my dress... It was an accident, and I didn't mean to find it, but I know that it is the one, lol!
And interestingly enough, it has completely changed EVERYTHING I thought I was going to have at the wedding, because I will have to change colour scheme now.
I've got to go in for measurements on the ACTUAL one I will order next October, so it will be the right size then. xx

It is tough! That's so exciting though, and you have found your "one" so thats great! Everyone i have spoken to has said "when you find the dress you know" I can't wait for that feeling! At the moment I want to try loads on as I have no idea on what style i want, but im sure the right dress will find me! Only 5 months till end of the year hehe, hopefully 2013 will be here in no time! I never thought that a dress could change your scheme..... that's the good thing about having so much time to plan, there's no panic! xx

Hi all!

Have just joined and thought I'd pop in and say 'hi' :)

I got engaged just over a month ago (4th anniversary) and we're hoping to get married on our 6th Anniversary-23 June 2014. We would have liked to have got married in 2013, but looking at costs etc. it makes more sense to wait an extra year. Unless we somehow win the lottery....
