Just wondering if anyone has started thinking about their honeymoons yet? If so where are you going and feel free to flash :D

Saw someone had paid theirs off on the main board so it got me thinking- I really want somewhere luxurious and properly honeymoony but I don't know if our budget will allow for it :(

We have been thinking about this for some time now. We have 3 children and were originally going to go on a 'funnymoon' (family honeymoon) with the kids and my sister and her little one(built in childcare) but my mum has agreed to have the kids for 10 days so we've had a re-think. As it's only 10 days we don't want to spend ages on a plane, we both have family on different islands in the caribbean so that wouldn't be anything different for us so we've narrowed it down to somewhere not too far, hot and where we can have a nice apartment. We're really not resting type people so woulldn't want to go somewhere that is secluded so all you can really do is sunbathe so we're thinking about this place

It won't find it for me :( which country is it?

I was looking a honeymoons yesterday and have started thinking Mexico might be nice or morocco maybe? I really want to start trying for a baby soon after the wedding so think we ought to have a really luxurious honeymoon a it's the only time we'll really get to do it.

Oooh that looks well lush- just the sort of thing I would love but think its probably over budget. I keep thinking we might be best booking something last minute to get a good price but I don't know...

When are you going? And if you don't mind telling me, how much are you paying? (sorry if that's terribly rude- don't say if you'd rather not!)

No,the link doesn't seem to work. It's a resort called Rixos premium in Turkey its through Thomas Cook holidays with style range and to top it off all of the reviews are 95% and up. Expensive but definitely looks worth it!

we went over budget! H2B gave me the puppy dog eyes (& who said it was the bride who got what they want all the time)
He has a choice of 2 more suits for 2 more groomsmen or the honeymoon.
He chose the honeymoon.

Costing us £3800! i was like :o
Rui hotels are amazing too, they are much much cheaper than the El Dorado ones.

Happy honeymoon hunting!

We just booked ours last week as I wanted to confirm prices for budget etc, even though we chose something way over what we inititally budgeted for!

We are off to Mexico for 2 weeks, can't wait! Staying in Thomson's Sensatori resort.

Where is everyone else off to?

To everyone who is going to Mexico - it is amazing!! We went there last year but we travlled down the Mexican riviera and it is beautiful. Just a word of wisdom - go out of Cancun for a bit as it is very touristy and American!! Go to Tulum or Chitchen Itza for a more real view of how amazing Mexico and it's people are!!

We're planning on going to Sri Lanka for our honeymoon! We want to do a week relaxing on a beach and as we are quite active and love to travel, we're going to spend another week travelling around the country and seeing all the temples and elephants!!
Haven't booked it yet but that's the plan!

The sensatori in Egypt looks lush as well. Had we not already been to Egypt it would have been a definite contender for us!

All you lucky lot off to the Maldives, it all looks so amazing.

Lots of overtime and no social life for the next year to pay for the wedding and honeymoon! Hopefully it will all be worth it!

Very true Lucy, other half has sold his car bless him, not to drastic as we only live ten minutes walk away from his work but my car is a necessity as otherwise i can't get to work as it is half an hour by car and reached via the a1, a47. Like you say it will all be worth it this time next year ladies. xx

I wish we had the option of overtime! OH works in a school so will have all August off and is going to get a job through his brother for some extra cash so might be able to have a better honeymoon than I first thought!

Mrsw2b - that's so good of your H2B to sell his car, I have to use my car for work and so does H2B, but even outside of work I rely on it so much!

Yea I have been lucky with the option of overtime at work over the last year, there has been loads which I've had to make the most of! I guess with working in a school there's plenty of overtime - all unpaid?!
