Hi,
Yes Lucy it was lovely of him, bless him he's a real car nut as well so i know how much he loved his sporty car he's now looking at scooters so he can get about.

Going to book our honeymoon on monday so excited, the only thing is i don't know wether to book it in my maiden name or what will be my married name. What have you ladies done? xx

Aww wow and he had a nice car. Big sacrifice for him then!

That's exciting booking the honeymoon. Where are you off to?

I booked in my married name, I couldn't resist! You can apply for a new passport in your married name 3 months from when you travel. There is a form for the vicar/registrar to sign to confirm that they will be marrying you. The new passport issued in your married name is only valid from the date of your wedding.

The only thing is if you need to travel close to your wedding date...as soon as you have applied for the new one in your married name, the old one isn't valid anymore.

Ah thanks Lucy, yeah he had a toyota celica. We're going to medhufushi in the maldives for ten nights can't wait. It will be our first holiday abroad together, we're not going away this year as we can't really justify it although we are going to stay at stoke rochford hall for one night for a friends wedding. How's the wedding planning going? x

Sounds lovely!

Planning is all going ok thank you, most things have been done since last year.
We are just getting ideas for flowers as a friend of ours will be doing them. I need to find a hair and make up artist too. Then it's just bridesmaid dresses, and the men's suits to organize!
MIL2b is amazing at arts and crafts and is in the process of making the invites to be ready for January hopefully. Then it is just the small bits like centrepieces, table plans which I have no idea about!

How are you getting on?

I am so pleased i booked our tog cause he has put his prices up by just over £300 but we managed to get him at last years prices cause we booked in january this year and we found him through a wedding fair, flowers booked & deposit paid, entertainment booked (pil2b paying for it), venue booked & deposit paid, registrar provisionally booked going to give notice next month, mua booked & deposit paid, MOH dress bought & paid for, vog booked & deposit paid, cake my parents sorting that out, dress chosen, ordered & deposit paid, my shoes bought & paid for bargain £25. I'm going to meet someone at the end of june re chair covers & sashes, stationary chosen & ordered deposit to be paid at the end of july, wedding insurance bought & paid for, cake topper paid for to be made next year. Still to decide on favours, pageboy, flowergirl outfits and the final finishing touches. Think thats everything for the moment lol xx

I would love to go to Mexico or the carribean but as I also work in a school, we can only go in August and it's rainy season then. We were really hoping to go further than Europe as we wanted something sort of 'once in a lifetime' but with a budget of about £3000-£4000. Any ideas ladies? x

Were looking at South America. Currently for 2 weeks although trying to get H2b to ask for 3 weeks off. Has anyone else been to or is looking at South America who can recommend anywhere?? At moment were planning (if only 2 weeks) Rio, iguazu falls (brazil and argentina sides) buenos aires and patagonia. Just wish it was 2013 already!!! xxx

We're off to Canada, hasnt been booked yet but we know what we want to do, go from Vancouver to Toronto and Nigara Falls. we'll be going on honeymoon 3 months after our wedding so we have decided on a mini moon just after our wedding but havent decided where yet, but Ireland has been mentioned :-)

Hi,

I got married last year and we set up an account with a company called VIPvillas.com, they do a honeymoon payment plan, they sent us some business cards to put in with our invitations with all the details on and instead of presents people paid towards our honeymoon, it was amazing we did things we could never have afforded!!

It was really easy we just set up the account and everyone else paid in... and you don't have to book your holiday with them if you don't want to so you're not tied, they will just send you a cheque for the amount in your account...

And not only that when we got back from our honeymoon we we met with a lovely wedding card with all the messages our guests had left online for us, so we have them to keep forever.... fantastic

Here is a link if you're interested

Hope this helps some of you

We thought we would keep on with our adventure theme and head to New York for a few nights before flying down to North Carolina, renting an RV and touring the Southern States before flying to Boston for a few nights and then home. We've booked Upper Class on Virgin and cannot wait!
