Are you the best man who is scared stiff of speeches or are you gagging for new gags?
Is your best man giving YOU cause for concern or is the thought of their speech giving you sleepless nights?
We have been contacted by a production company who are are looking to make a fun and light-hearted show that tells the story of a wedding or commitment ceremony through the eyes of the Best Man (or woman!). In return the best man gets help with writing, preparing and performing his speech through a series of challenges and with expert help from a top comedian.
"Our aim is to help our best men overcome any issues they have with the speech. If the best man is feeling a little nervous or shy, we would pair him up with a comedian who would help him with performance tips, give him confidence, guidance and hopefully prepare to deliver a brilliant speech. We will not write the speech, because it's obviously a personal thing, but we will help structure it and collate ideas if necessary.
We would also meet those getting married and spend some time with them to find out what their expectations of the best man are and how they think he will do. In total we will spend about five days filming with the best man, and these days could be half days and we will fit around his schedule as much as possible. We would also spend a day or so with the bride and groom and possibly the best man?s partner or friends to get their views."
The climax of the show is the speech on the big day itself. They would of course need to film the speech, but have promised to be as inconspicuous as possible, only two crew members with a handheld camera. They are sensitive to the bride and grooms arrangements and would respect their wishes in terms of what else they would allow the crew to film on the day!
