I haven't got wedding insurance yet but feel I need a kick up the ass to get some.

I have asked friends who are getting married before me and non seem to have it.

What has been peoples experiences with wedding insurance? and has it come in handy.

I didn't have it (and got married twice, UK/Australia) and didn't need it at either! Maybe I was just lucky, but I didn't feel that I needed it with the vendors I used (all well established, been doing weddings for years etc...)

I wasn't going to bother, but where I work I was seeing established businesses folding (not related to weddings in anyway) and it made me realise that even seemingly "safe" companies were struggling.

It was £65 for peace of mind. We didn't need it, but I couldn't have afford to pay for any of the big things again if something had of gone wrong.

Hi,

We have it and for £35 it's not worth not having it!! Someone posted on the other board last night about a company there were using has gone out of business and they had not been informed!! She has insurance so will get the money she paid back!!! Other wise she would have lost about £270 I think it was!!!

Is totally up to you but personally I hope it's the best £35 I spent that i never have to use!

Small price to pay for piece of mind x

We had this topic in Bride&Groom forum, perhaps it will come in handy?

bride-groom/wedding-insurance-do-you-have-it-t203448.html

Like I already said, for every couple who is happy they did take out insurance, there is an unhappy couple who didn't...

That's it? Then what's the harm? It's like getting a travel insurance; even if you don't think you're getting it, you can relax knowing that you're protected (but still take care though).
