Yay Lucia! Welcome back, haven't 'seen' you for ages!! Have been keeping up with your plans on FB though. And I'll say again - LOVE your shoes!!

Hey Choccie! Love The Wannadies, such a fab wedding song. Awww about your H2B, that is so sweet. And you are so brave doing the 30 Day SHred, there's no way I could do that. Keep going though, it'll be worth it!

My news is - I'M GETTING MARRIED THIS MONTH!!! And the hair and makeup is sorted. Have spoken to the new lady who seems very nice and she's doing a hair and makeup trial on Tuesday morning for me. Yippeee!!! Am excited again now.

xxx

Zoo - hope you have a lovely relaxing time at the spa and an amazing day tomorrow, can NOT wait for the photos and report. Good luck!

MrsG2B - yay, good to see you on here! Sounds like you've been very productive, and yay for the vog.

Pumpkin - phewee that everything is sorted. Sounds like you've handled it brilliantly, not sure I would've been so calm. Yay for being in your wedding month! Do you have much left to do now?

Kezzy - it might seem a long time until your hen but it will fly by judging by how fast the last few months have gone. I think the shoes are fab and that's great news about your priest. And aww about your DD, must have been a proper heart-tugging moment for you.

Red Devil - thanks for your kind words, I am feeling better thanks, getting there anyway. Re photos, waiting a bit longer means you get to revive the excitement post-wedding so will be worth the wait! Hope your doggy and moggy are okay and have perked up.

Choc - that's a lovely choice of first dance song. And it's great that your H2B is excited.

As for me, it's been a lovely weddingy week. Really happy with my new dress. The tasting went brilliantly, the food was gorgeous, we love all our choices and we felt really full and satisfied after a moderate amount of food which is a good thing. Had fun going to our ceremony venue and wandering down the aisle!

Right now we're sorting things out with the bar folk as we're going to have a couple of cocktails on offer for people to buy if they want, we've decided on mint juleps as I think they're quite vintagey and cool, and some kind of martini. Trying to think of clever names for them now - we've got a name for the martinis which is a play on H2B's surname/my married name, but trying to come up with something for the mint juleps. So far I have Mint I Do-leps, but I can't decide if that's good or too cheesey!

Hi everyone, Its taken me so long to get back on here I'm not going to write a report but wanted to flash a few photos as they were always my favourite posts anyway! Particularly for my venue twin pumpkin, we made a good choice! We had been having some issues with the venue in the lead up but on the day they were great. Janine was there in the morning while I was setting up and then Marianne took over to make sure everything went smoothly, which it did. Except at the beginning - I wanted to put my dress on at the last moment so wasn't ready when I had my meeting with the registrar. She went back downstairs at which point Lincoln (the pianist) took that as his cue and started to play my entrance music! Everyone stood up but I didn't appear as I was unaware of this and was still getting into my dress! I can laugh about it now but once I found out I kept worrying everyone had thought I was having second thoughts! Apparently H was fine as he knew there was no other way for me to get out of the building except down those stairs!!
So anyway, we had a great day and the weather was fab. Thank you to everyone for their support and ideas sharing and hope you all have fantastic days too - enjoy every second as it really does fly.

Woolly I do so love your new dress! Its great that you found another one and your old shop sounded crap! The veil sounds amazing to!

Kezzy Your tiara is so pretty! I LOVE it! I also am loving the shoes! The make up trial was good. I didn't take any photos because she hadn;t done the foundation she was just playing around with eye colours. She went for silvery tones but with a smokey effect which I loved! We've decided on clear mascara because I have really long thick eyelashes and mascara tends to clump!

Red Devil that's a good idea getting a few other piccies taken. My dad has asked my brother to take some so I'll have those :) How are your poorly animals?

Pumpkin so glad you sorted your problem with make up and hair.

Choc I'm going to to have a mooch on Google later and listen to that song never heard of the band always on the lookout for new music.

Buttercup your pictures look amazing glad you had a lovely day. :D

Again not done much for the wedding this week I've had the worst week at work and not even thoughts of the wedding could make it better! On the plus side I am enjoying my 4 day weekend!

There's a flash of or save the date cards down at the bottom so pleased with them!

Finally started at the gym yesterday and I thoroughly enjoyed going back again today!

I had a thought lots of you wont be on this bit soon doesn't seem like there will be anyone left :(

Buttercup - gorgeous pics! Oops about the entrance music but at least your H knew you hadn't done a runner... glad you had a lovely day.

Snoopy - thank you, they were crap but their crapness did me a favour really. As I said on FB I love your save the dates, they look gorgeous.

MrsW2b - exciting about the save the dates. Are you new to this thread or have we just not crossed paths before? But welcome if so!

We went to H2B's cousin's wedding this weekend and I was relieved to find almost nothing was the same - they also had BMs in purple but a different shade and style, and the flowers, decorations, food, favours etc were all different, so no dilemmas over whether we need to change something to avoid looking like we've copied. For those of you having a sweetie table, they had one and it went down a storm. I'd never been to a wedding with one before, though wanted to after seeing them in magazines and stuff (not having one myself as we've got lots of other food planned) and it was brilliant, everyone loved it.

Hope everyone's having a good bank hol!

Well things have been a little quiet on the wedding front because my aunt died two weeks ago, and we had to wait a full two weeks before we could have her funeral. Which put me off wedding planning as it didn't feel right or appropriate in the circumstances. It also put paid to any Jubilee shenanigans because neither of us were in the mood. We had to travel over 250 miles to the funeral to get together with family and then because we were in that neck of the woods we were also visiting other family members - the whole weekend has been spent driving on motorways, sleeping in travelodges, or kipping on sofas!! I'm whacked!!
On a brighter note various family members are looking forward to the wedding so it will nice to get together for a happier event. But I'm off for the rest of this week so have plenty to catch up on!!

Hi everyone!!!

Snoopy I love your STD's and Woolly, I LOVE 'Mint I Do-leps' sounds great!!

BUTTERCUP - woweeee!!! So glad the venue came up trumps in the end. I was there on Saturday for the final meeting and it was lovely to see it set up for a wedding. Can not wait to get there and set up for ours now!! You looked absolutely stunning and I'm so pleased it went well. You certainly look very happy!!

I had my hair and MU trial with my new lady and LOVED it. Will flash in the main thread for those who haven't seen on FB.

Have also got quite a bit done, putting everything into boxes (one for the ceremony room, one for the toilets, one for the reception room etc). So with 3 weeks to go all I have left to do is:

Registrar meeting
Ring all suppliers the week of the wedding to make sure all okay
Pay balances
Get six more thank you presents (know what we’re getting but can’t get them til nearer the time as they are vouchers and things)
Email the ushers and bridesmaids and best men to make sure they know when to arrive etc!!
Make a back up of the ceremony music (we have a string quartet but just in case something happens…!)

xxx

Hi All

Just got back from seeing the photographer and he was pretty reasonable! Its more than we'd put aside but we get an awful lot for the price. Decisions decisions! :)

Kezzy you sound really busy!

Pumpkin you sound really organised!

9647 big internet hugs xx

Hope everyone's ok

Swampy - really sorry to hear the sad news about your aunt.

Kezzy - a sweetie cart sounds amazing, your guests will love it. Sounds like you've got a super exciting month lined up.

Pumpkin - said on FB but hair and make-up look fab, so glad it's worked out and amazed how calmly you've handled it. Can't believe you have so little left to do, well done you.

Snoopy - said on FB but I do think you should tell the tog it's too much. You'd be amazed how much you can haggle.

Glad you all like Mint I-do Leps. We're definitely going with that and we've changed the other one to Raspberry Marry-tini! Hee. Currently debating when to cut the cake, I know people often do it before the first dance but the day guests won't have eaten their dessert long ago so I'm thinking we do the first dance, the band plays a bit, then when we break and serve the buffet, we do the cake-cutting as well. But nobody ever seems to do it then, so maybe it's not such a good idea!

Can't remember if I said but H2B told me he wanted to ask his aunt to do a reading, then told me he'd changed his mind, so we asked some other people who we really can't un-ask.

What he didn't tell me is that he'd asked her, months ago, and she'd said yes. Only found out when we heard on the family grapevine that she'd been telling everyone she was going to, am fuming at H2B and we've had to find her another job sharpish to salvage the situation. Men!!!

Well I encouraged ....... ok ....made OH decide on the music for our ceremony as it needed to be on the forms for the Registrar along with the words we want to say!! So having done that - we then went to the Registrars' Office to hand them in and pay the final payment.

We also went to tailors' to get OHs' waistcoat altered!!

Ordered another day time invite from our creative designer - so that will be here in a day or so.

Another two or three jobs off the list!

It's funny how doing what is essentially one job usually clears up one or two others! Like choosing our words, music, readings and who's doing them all needed to be done before we could go along and pay the registrar. Now if only everything else would work like that!!

Hello everyone - been away from this post for a few weeks - it's been hectic.
Big hugs to those of you who have had sad news.

Lots of lovely flashes going on - that's what I like to see.

Well last week had my final dress fitting - it was lush. I was starting to have a few doubts about my dress as a wedding I was at a month or so ago the bride had practically the same dress (you may remember me ranting about it) and at my first fitting I got really upset as it was massive on me and just looked awful. Now it's all fitted properly and I could get a really good look at it and I'm thrilled and all those feelings I felt when I first found the dress came back. Can't wait to get it on again now.

Also had my hair trial and my make up trial. Was a bit odd as usually don't wear much make up - but was really happy with the overall result - my make up lady is so nice.
My tiara didn't turn up in time for my hair trial though, but the boutique let me borrow their display one for it which was really nice of them.

On Monday we had a meeting with our venue to discuss timings etc which went brilliantly they were so helpful. I love my venue so much I think it is just so perfect. I can't wait until all my guests see it.

Things are horrible at work again, I've spoken before about problems I've had there. I see Juju wrote a thread about her work problems and I'm in a bit of a similar situation. I won't go into detail as I don't want to think about it and ruin my wkend. I think I've got a bit of a fight on my hands with them. Just not what I need right now. So to take my mind of it I'm trying to do wedding things today. Went shopping for h2b wedding shoes this morning and have ordered my confetti and cones this afternoon. Listening to some 80's love songs at the mo which is cheering me up some what.

xx
