Thank you :-)

I've never been to Greece before so it's very daunting trying to plan a wedding there! Lots of people have told me how lovely it is though! I'm looking at a couple of websites at the moment, Planet Weddings and The Bridal Consultant. Has anyone heard of these two websites?

Hoping to get something booked soon and then the real planning can start. Looking forward to going dress shopping!

Hi Daisy,

I heard of Planet Weddings, they look good.  They feature on the wedding tv channel when the destination place Greece a lot.

We got married in Kos - the wedding was in the Town Hall on the harbour front at Kos Town which was beautiful (and lots of taxi/bus drivers beeping their horns at us in celebration). We then went to a restaurant in Kos Town called Petrino. It has a gorgeous outdoor terrace area with lots of creeping flowers and ivy. To end the day we went back to the hotel - we stayed at the Luca Blue Lagoon. All in all it was a fantastic day, wouldnt change a thing - MrsMcbtobe - have a lovely wedding and honeymoon in Kos x

Iam getting married on the 6th September 2012 also at the Blue lagoon resort. I wonder if you could give me some help regaurding what documentation I need and whether you have had you birth certicate legalised yet??
Look forward to hearing from you
Natalie. x

hiya

sorry not replied sooner. cant beleive we have the same wedding date its a bit strange knowing theres going to be another bride! what time are you getting married and which venue have you picked?? we are getting married at 6.30pm on the beach and having our reception in the bbq restaurant afterwards.

we havent had any of our documentation sorted yet, we are waiting until we get the certificate of no impediment and we cant get that until june, then i think we will use kosweddings.com who do translations etc then hand the documents back when you arrive in kos, the lady i emailed from kosweddings.com said that she will help me out with legalisations when it comes to it as this needs to be done in england.

hope this information helps and look forward to hearing from you again!

also to the lady who is getting married in june at blue lagoon resort id love to hear all about it!!!

Hi :) We're getting married on Kefalonia on the 20th June (10 weeks today! eek!) at the Mareblue Apostolata Resort in Skala (ceremony by the private Chapel, reception at the roof-top restaurant).

Regarding documents, we've used a translator called Androulla Veliotu (recommended by our wedding planner) to sort everything out for us. You need full birth certificates and certificates of no impediment to marriage (which you apply at your local registry office for) plus any documentation for proof of a name change or divorce, all translating in to Greek, stamped by the British Embassy and stamped by the Greek Embassy.

Its a fairly expensive and complex process, but you'd save money if you went through the various processes yourself instead of paying the translator to do it for you :)

Hope this helps x

Hi everyone

We're getting married in Santorini on 30th Aug 2013, we're really excited and can't wait for the day to be here! Only thing I'm a little nervous about is the paperwork but I'm hoping it will be fine and relatively straightforward xx

Kelly, this was the thing that worried me the most but once you get started i promise its not that bad,i looked into local wedding companies based in the area we were getting married in and went with the one most people had used that had good reputation this is cheaper than doing it through Thomson or whoever you booked with and i always emailed so they could tell me what to do step by step :P hope this helps?good luck :P

Ooooh i'm getting excited now!!!!! Am getting married in Santorini on June 7th this year-only 5 weeks away!! Am anxious that everything i've planned actually happens as i've imagined it! But trying to focus on the fact that as long as we get married then the tiny details don't really matter!!! Can't believe how quickly the time has gone since we booked last June-it's true when people say "it'll be here before yoiu know it!" Good luck to all ofyou Greek wedding brides! xxxx

I spent sleepless nights worrying about paperwork, but we've just recieved ours back from Androulla and it couldn't have been easier! 4 documents and a form, in an envelope and she's done the rest :) Our names look very strange in Greek though haha!
