I'm not really interested in having a pub/bar crawl having L plates on me and falling about drunk, it just isn't me.

Does anyone have any ideas for what I could do to have a fun, relatively quiet night with my close girl family and friends?

Am feeling the same way... but am not worrying as there are usually plenty of things you can do.  so here is a (not very)comprehensive list of ideas I have had !

I know some potteries do plate decorating, theres wine tasting, cocktail making, cookery classes (cup cakes!!), spas etc.  all really good for some girlie bonding.  Or how about having a bridal shower like they do in the US, kind of a big girls night in with facemasks and a soppy film.  Some smaller cinemas hire out screenings so you can watch a favourite girlie film?  Go and see a musical, it doesnt have to be london the regional theatres are very good.  What about a treasure hunt??

I dont think the other girls will mind as hen nights can be a bit samey with L and tiaras down a night club and it will be good to do something different.

My partner does not drink and has been worrying about his stag so we are dividing up into girls and boys during the day and doing different things (spa / go carting) and then meeting up for a meal in the evening.  If anyone wants to go clubbing afterwards they can but there us less pressure for me and H2B to go as well.

hope you have some ideas now!

How about a quiet theme night in your home?

Guests could come in fancy dress (a glam movie night maybe?!?) and the house could be decorated appropriately with appropriate food/films etc. I love the other suggestions about getting in some pampering. You could also have some games (with Oscars as prizes) or hire in a topless waiter if you wanted to spice up things up a little! You can even hire a mixologist to come to the house...........

Have fun deciding x

I'm the same and I'd like my Mum and Mother in Law there and they won't really want a spa or drunken night out.  I've been thinking of doing an afternoon tea at a hotel, there are some nice ones near us and perhaps on another evening having a meal with h2b and his friends/family...he's not into drinking either so not sure what his plans are...don't think he even wants a stag do.  Also looked into chocolate making as I'm a real chocoholic!!! x

When my sister in law married my brother 4 years ago, she had an ann Summers night at her house. I was amazed when my mum and aunts turned up, but they really enjoyed themselves, had a giggle and then went home while we had drinks afterwards.

I think something at home is so nice and personal. Also, in the current climate, it costs less for guests as you can make it a bring a bottle rather than a full night out on the town

murder mystery party, afternoon tea theme, or what about a night in but hire a chef to cook a fabulous meal in your home, or a cheeky butler?

We're having a joint hen/stag day do - Go Ape at Leeds Castle. In the evening just having all the girlies over perhaps for a bbq but defo lots of alcohol and some drinking games to liven things up.Tongue out I don't think it's fair that you ask your friends and families to spend a lot of money for your pre-wedding celebrations!

We didn't want any wild nights out clubbing either, so we just opted for a nice meal with closest friends/family, and then invited others to join us for drinks.

I preferred the pole dancing idea. Not sure I could sit still during a hen day to draw a naked man...

we are having a joint hen/stag do.  we r just going out to a restaurent and then have a huge sleepover at our place. i know its not massive thing but its cheaper that doing anything else and i would rather put all that money towards our future together than spending it on a single night that you woundnt remember in the morning.

My friend had a sleep over for her hen party, face packs, movies and games.  What about something like Go Ape?  I loved that and you get a little certificate at the end so they'll all have something to keep.  You can get some really nice ones like Leeds Castle in Kent...or you could try something new like a segway tour/activity

Spa is calm and relaxing procedure, so you won't need drinks, stupid pink novelties and even male stripper.

Also you could do Victorian era ladies tea party. Of course you will need to rent some costumes. Make sure you have some photos shot from such an evening.Cool

on my best friend's hen night, we went to our favorite hotel and stayed for two nights, on the first day we spent the day as if we were back in college, the next day we pampered ourselves with spa and ended the day with a movie marathon. it was all about us, no work no beaus... :))

Hiya, im the same, my friends are planning mine but i think we are just having a girly pj party with some good food, nice pink champagne, theyve ordered a cake and balloons and are decorating the house, also think ann summers will make an appearance which is always good, especially for honeymoon essentials!

why no try a movie marathon? that's what my friends and i did...we checked in a hotel, and brought the movies and everything we needed, it brought back a lot of memories we ended up talking the whole night after we finished up all the movies... after that we just enjoyed the hotel facilities... a tear stained wedding napkins moment... :)
