What is everyone doing with regards surnames and prefixes? We've kinda decided to both take my partner's surname (I hate mine, so that was easy) but now don't know what we should use in front of it.  Miss indicates to me that we are single, Ms sounds like we're divorced and I'm just not sure about Mrs - it seems right for me but not for girlf who isn't changing her name.  What do you think?

Im in two minds whether to double barrel (not sure about this) or take my OH name.  Not really particularly bothered about keeping mine to be honest.  But definitely going to be a MRS!!!! yippeeeee

We have NO idea what to do. I'm half North African and have a long complicated surname - I don't want to give up my surname and I want to take hers but it'll be such a long double-barrelled name.

My other half doesn't want to take my name (too long, doesn't suit her :( ) so I guess we might end up just sticking to our own names and changing to Mrs just for the sake of having something in our names to signify marriage. If my surname was Smith it would be so much easier!

I think we've pretty much decided to double barrel our names, though it does sound quite posh! We're probably both going to become Mrs too, though I'm going to keep my name as it is at work as I'm known by a lot of people by my maiden name.

In Response to Miss, Ms, Mrs?:
I'm taking my girls name, and making my surname into my middle name because I don't have one currently, and we're going for Mrs. Works out great.

We double barrelled our surname and are both Mrs.  I'm proud to be married to her and I want to show it off at every opportunity which is why it would never have been anything but Mrs :D

We have decided that I will be taking my gf's surname and I will be Mrs but im leaving it up to her if she wants to be Mrs, Miss or Ms. Its going to be confusing with post and stuff if we are both Mrs as we have the same first initial.

If you don't know. use Ms. as it is neutral regarding marital status.

Miss is for unmarried women.

Mrs is for married women.

Ms is for 'unknowns' and any woman who wishes to use it.

Definitely Mrs for both of us! We don't like our surnames and hate the idea of making up a name so we are going to double barrel our mothers maiden names.
