We want to have our CP as late as possible in the day ...does anyone know what the latest time is that a CP can be performed at a venue of our choice and is it easy to get a registrar to come out and perform a later ceremony ?

should add we are in scotland not sure if this makes a difference

I think it would be best for you to ring your local register office direct... I have heard that the latest is 5:30pm as a wedding must be finalised before 6pm for it to be legal, but our register office said the latest they would do (this was on a Friday so may be different for other days) was 3:30pm.

Thank you Mrs J i will look into it .... 5.30ish would be fine maybe it comes at a price though, but thats fine provided i can have what i want.

Its a nightmare when you have " a vision " of what you want but it proves difficult to organise

Good job i dont want Katie Price's carriage as well ( giggles )

It's a shame it's not possible to do it later. Registry office says the latest we could have it was 3pm...we've now moved the whole wedding to a hotel so we can have it later - it seems a lot more fluid to have the ceremony later, then dinner, then the reception party. Morning weddings must go on all day or have a huge gap of waiting around - although maybe it would be nice to have some time alone.

I wanted a candlelit ceremony after visiting a castle that shut the shutters in the day so it's nice and dark-it was stunning, we went for a more financial viable option in the end but were told we shouldn't get married too late as we'd be limited to having all our photos inside in order to get proper light and have more flattering pics!

I'd never actually thought about that aspect...photos are a really important part for us (probably for everyone) but I wanted plenty of time in the morning to relax so we're getting an afternoon Civil Partnership. Lucky as it's in the summer we'll be ok for photos still I should think!
