Hi all,

Just after some help for gifts for parents...i know i'm leaving this very late so any help would be very much appreciated :-)

We wanted to get our mums a 'mum in a million' rose bush each... ideally in some sort of gift box/bag so i don't need to do that myself. I am finding it really hard to find them online, has anyone else got these for mums-any recomendations where i can find them?? Or can i buy them from any local garden centre?

Also have other people bought gifts for dads...i wasn't going to, but now i'm not sure. Both my partners dad and my step dad are really hard to buy for and wouldn't really appriciate the usual ideas for gifts. i'm sure neither would be offended if we didn't, but just thought id ask others what they've done?
I thought i'd write a nice card to both set of parents saying thanks...will that do?

Big Thanks xxx

Is your step dad giving you away? If so it may be nice to get him a little something. The thank you card is definitely a nice touch but if you could stretch to it maybe a little gesture would be nice

I decided to get the dads something simply because my parents are so far removed from wedding traditions that if I got the mums something my dad (and very likely my mum too) would have taken offence, so, we went for cufflinks in an engraved box for the dads with FOTB having an engraved glasses case too, FOTG has an engraved pen, cos he'll be less expectant or mardy!! ;)

We got both mums a 'mum in a million' rose. They came in a huge cardboard box that we obviously removed beforehand! They did have ribbon tied around them and my now H convinced me to leave them as they were rather than put them into a gift bag. Was so glad I listened to him as it meant that the mums could see their gift properly without tearing into it too much - plus guests could have a nosy which made them both feel special when anyone commented on them being mums in a million! The company we used were great- you could even choose when they were delivered - I didn't want them at our house too long before the wedding for fear I would kill them! Let me know if you want me to check the name of the company for you. X

I got our mums a 'love in a bag' gift. Its flower seeds (poppies mainly if i remember rightly) that they can plant all year round & they come up every year so will always have reminder of wedding. It comes with a little thank you card in a little hessian drawstring bag that i just popped into a gift bag. I got my dad an engraved toothpick holder which he loved
