Hello there! First time poster here.

I am getting married 2013 but got engaged 2011 so I have been getting bits and pieces for the wedding along the way. I was debating whether to go for real flowers but I liked the idea of artificial blooms as they look very realistic.

Now, I did see a broach bouquet at a bridal fair once and it was lovely, Tiny and expensive. I have since found a tutorial on YouTube to create a DIY broach bouquet. I think I could probably do this but am I being mad here and it could turn out to be a mess...

What to do, what to do lol

Luv

Junebride

Hi there :-)

I think brooch bouquets are lovely although I have no idea of how hard or easy they would be to make! How would you feel about a fake flower bouquet with a few brooches added in? Might be easier to create?

Welcome to the forums :-)

There was a bride on here a little while ago who did a DIY brooch bouquet and it turned out really well. Go for it! :)

Hi everyone, I've just been reading your posts on buying broach bouquets.

I think thats a nice idea, if you only have a small budget to spend on flowers for your big day.

I'm a freelance florist and have made them with fresh, and silk flowers, if fresh flowers are used, then its better to go for something long lasting like an Orchid, and this will last all day long.

I live in Hertfordshire, and I'm currantly looking for people for whom I can design their
wedding flowers for, to expand my porfolio range.I am a fully qualified florist, and have several reconized qualifications.

I will only charge for the cost of the materials that I use for the wedding, no labour costs will be included.

If anyone is intrested, then please message me, and i'll send you some photos of my work.

Thanks Allison

I dunno. My craft expertise is starting with good intentions and ending up like a 4 year old done it I'm in between going for real or fake. If fake probably silk blooms they are fantastic and based in Glasgow.

Loads of responses I'm very impressed ^_^ I said something interesting yey!

Im having a brooch bouquet with artificial roses. With having a wedding abroad its perfect for me! We're getting married on a cruise in the Caribbean and therefore have a nautical theme. I've chosen a few brooches which match the theme (star fish, seahorse and anchor) amongst 3 of my late Mum's brooches.
I became friends with a girl on another wedding forum who is making it for me, along with buttonholes. Her company name is centre of attention and she is on facebook- definitely worth a visit for other wedding items too xx

Hiya, i've made my own, its a mix of brooches & artificial flowers, but most importantly it has turned out exactly how I imagined, and I know it will be truly unique to me. I've also made a smaller one for my young niece to carry and will work on doing the ceremony table arrangement to similar styles.

I am in no way a craft-y type but I have really enjoyed working on it!
