It's more like I feel I should. I don't really want to because I don't usually and I still want to be me on the day - I think H2B might find it a bit strange! I hadn't thought of tinted moisturiser - thanks! :D

I'm buzzin Woolly, haven't had a full nights sleep in weeks but adrenalin is keeping me going. Done loads today getting site ready (mil2b's garden) and plenty more to do tomorrow. H2b is sitting here making jam jar lanterns and I'm writing the table plan our kids Ikea chalk board. Think I need to crack open the wine :)

Hope your new mou does what you ask her! I thought about false eyelashes but never got round to it.

April if you don't want to wear make up then don't! You will save a fortune!

Was peed off today. I've got brand new Spanx to wear under my column dress. Wore it on my hen night to check it was comfy, gave it a hand wash and the blinkin gusset had 2 holes in it! Haha know I know tipsy on my henny but nothing to explain that!!!! Dont think I'm going to have time this week to get back to the shop, so think I'm getting married in holey knickers! Will just need to sew it! Ive got some lovely undies for later. Was bad enough wearing Spanx, now it's holey Spanx ! Tmi sorry folks, better get back to my table plan x

Ruby, I giggled about the holey spanx. Bit of a poor show from Spanx though as they're certainly not cheap!!

One month to go for me today, am a bit shellshocked - this time on the 24th next month I'll be a Mrs!

Ruby - sorry to hear about your spanx, grr! I would take them back and insist on a refund, they shouldn't be doing that after just one wash. (They have to give a refund for faulty things whether or not you have the receipt, trust me. Shops can't insist you have a receipt as they're not obliged to give one but a lot of people don't know this!)

Re false lashes, I'm just having a few on each eye.

Kez - said on the Aug thread already but glad you had a great time, will have to have a nosey on FB.

New hair and make-up lady is fab, thankfully. She listened, agreed with me about what make-up suited me and put my hair in lovely soft waves, so all set now. Have also booked a gel manicure and a pedicure for a few days before the wedding, although I still need to pick a colour.

Seems H2B is having his stag on the 18th of August. Bit close to the wedding for my liking but they're just going to a footie match (and will behave as they wouldn't risk getting banned). Still worried though!

Hi you all. Got me holey knickers sorted out hahah. Refund from Debehnhams so got me and my 2 best pals to bride and bridesmaids knickers for a laugh. And got even better- hold -me -in pants from Markies. So blessing in disguise really.
That's me finished work tonight. Yeehaa! Marquee started going up today. Going to get wedding paperwork, roots done, fake tan and pay caterer tomorrow. Am away for a bath in an attempt to have a full nights sleep. Havent had one of them in ages and not sure how much longer adrenalin will run for.

Know what you mean about shell shock Woolly, I'm like that just now!

Take care gang x

Hi Everyone,

Ruby glad you got your holey spanx sorted out, Good Luck with your big day.

We gave notice today which was quite exciting well for me anyway h2b was a bit grumpy due to lack of sleep, the lady who we gave notice to will be marrying us as well which is great, she was really nice as well. Can't believe the next time we see her will be 6 weeks before the wedding when we return our ceremony plan and fee. eeeekkkkk xxx

Ruby - glad you got your holey pants sorted. How sexy would that have been on the night lol
Good luck for your wedding, hope it all goes as planned and you have the best day (i'm sure you will) :-)

Kez - Your friends wedding looked great!
Married life is fine, just the same as it was before really. Personally I don't feel that anythings changed, we're fully back in the swing of the normal day to day and reality is not really any different now I have an extra ring lol

Wooly - Eeek at less than a month to go. Glad your MU and hair is sorted, it looked lovely!

x

Ladies im after a bit of advice, Im really stuck on the legal side of this wedding!!

Our venue fees cover the preist/church fees even though we arnt marrying at the church, I think we need a license - do we need to give notice if the banns dont need to be read?? Im going to email the co-ordinator to see if she knows but im really confused with the special lisence/license fee/giving notice all these fees and im not even sure which ones we need to pay!!! Argh!!

Thanks everyone for all your lovely kind words.

Ruby - glad you got your holey pants sorted, sorry but that did make me giggle.

Red Devil - I honestly don't know sorry but just wanted to say that whatever you are told, you should check it with everyone (priest, registry office, etc) to make sure they all agree you have everything you need.

Have just sent my florist an insanely long email confirming all the quantities, times and venue details, and a whole load of questions! Still umming over what to do for buttonholes. Florist originally suggested single roses for everyone else and three spray roses for H2B but I want him to have a single rose too so am seeing if she can make it stand out another way e.g. with ribbon or more foliage or something.

Have also been playing around with a bunch of Scrabble tiles and racks (lovely old wooden ones) and have made the following:
NEWLYWEDS
EAT DRINK AND BE MARRIED
FRIDAY IM IN LOVE
24 AUGUST (with two blanks for the numbers, need to write them on!)
And our married surname

Will flash when I've glued them all together...

I cannot remember the last time I came on here so I won't be able to catch up, sorry, I hope you are all okay though. Everything is starting to happen now, we've found our honeymoon and are going to book it tomorrow, I'm going to pay the deposit on my dress on Friday and at some point in the next few weeks, I'm going to start making my invitations!

Woolly those scrabble tiles sound fabulous! Flash?!! As for buttonholes, they were the one thing I couldn't visualise in my head and it really bugged me but our florist did wonderfully. As I had pearls as jewellery, and it was all very pearl and vintage, they did ivory single roses with green leaves for all the guys but put a pearl in the middle of the grooms, along with some wire with pearls on swirled around it. It was really nice. Then the two mums had peach and ivory corsages (small ones though, we didn't want massive things) as they were our wedding colours, and the ladies had ivory roses with gypsophila.

Zooey, do you not feel any different? It's weird as me and Mr Pumps both kind of do but can't put our finger on it. Whatever it is I'm liking it!!

Swampy it never ceases to amaze me how stoopid people can be. We had RSVPs with prompts for what we needed so people just had to complete it - we'd even put their names on it for them! If they have that much trouble with a piddly RSVP then no wonder the Passport Office seem to return so many forms!!

Peg you just made me lament starting making my invites, seems like such a distant memory but then I remembered the slow progress to the summit of Invitation Mountain. Aaaggghh!!

Red - not sure what you mean about the venue. Are you getting married in a civil ceremony at your venue or in a church?

xxx

Neither pumps!! Lets see if i can explain it properly - its so hard everyone just says 'eh!' lol!

We are getting married at a national trust estate which has an old chapel which holds a special license to allow people to marry there, In our FAQ it states this

Gibside Chapel holds a special wedding license and therefore, no banns need to be read. Around three months prior to your wedding, you will need to contact Durham Diocesan Registry to obtain your license which costs around £215.

Now our parish preist has to marry us (he has agreed) but he seems to think banns still need to be read even though we have showed him the paper work......problem one!

My friend said that everyone who gets married have to give notice - ive had a google and found this from directgov website

'If you are getting married in the Church of England or Church in Wales, then you do not usually have to give notice of marriage.' - Im not entirely sure if this is us - only bit in paperwork is that we have to have the Anglican priest in our parish marry us - My mam thinks this is ok for CoE

sorry just quickly as im on my mobile, but if you need to collet you license Vicky then i imagine you will need to give notice like you would if a registra that was marrying you? Know you have to have your banns read even in your parish church so you will have to do one or the other lol! Sorry cant give anymore advice has you rang the registra to see what they say? X x
